Dear Reader— Here are Some of my Goals for 2025
2024 was a great year for me, both personally and professionally. I made a lot of strides in my work and gained a lot of confidence as a writer — something I have struggled with as a non-native writer.
What helpled? Stats and data. I have never been on the back end of the writing. As a freelance writer, your view of your own work is limited and possibly a bit skewed because you write an article, fret over the sentences, edit till you are tired and that’s it.
In the past, I was measuring my work on the basis of how good the writing sounded, and how well ‘I’ felt about my work and of course, we tend to be rather critical. The reader on the other hand is concerned with few things — and none of the criterias are how grammatically correct the sentences are or how an english literature student would rate your work.
My creative goals for 2025 are simple.
- Create more, edit less.
(Be less self-critical and hit publish more often, because I have 3x the drafts than published pieces and it’s not a good look.)
- Read more (but with intention.)
(It’s been a few years since I have read more than 5 books per year, so one of my goals is to read at least 1 book a month.
- Get out of my comfort zone.
(I have pushed more personal boundaries than ever last year, but I am still pretty introverted and afraid. So, here’s to doing more of what I want to, but are afraid to.)
With this said, you and I both know that writing goals down make them real and while these goals aren’t the best one you might see, there are still something.

Owing to my goal of reading more, I have picked up feel good productivity as my first read. I have followed Ali Abdaal for 2+ years now and his approach to mindful, feel good productivity felt comfy to me. I will be sharing my findings and insights next.
What are your goals for 2025?
See you in the next one.
